The Number One Marketing Sin You Might be Committing...

According to data, the potential reach of Facebook ads is 1.9 billion. Yes, Billion with a B!

The downside, it requires businesses to have good marketing skills to cut through the clutter with their ads.

So… If you are a local business using Facebook ads, make sure you aren’t making this crucial mistake, as it could RUIN how effective your ad is.

Why is there so much clutter on Facebook?

Over 41% of local businesses use social media to help drive their revenue.

That is A LOT. But why such a high number?

Meta advertisements are unlike most types of advertising.

When you use traditional advertising such as posters, flyers, TV advertising, and so on, you’re throwing most of the budget away from the start.

This is because most people who see the advert aren’t interested.

What makes Meta so valuable, however, is that we can target our ideal customers. We can find those people who are actually interested in our product and put our ads in front of them.

So, why is it so difficult?

Most companies use Meta ads…

But only a small proportion of companies are good at them.

Most companies just throw money at Meta and expect to find new clients immediately.

Unfortunately, it’s more difficult than that.

Developing good marketing skills and making good ads has a steep learning curve.

It’s comparable to starting a new video game.

In video games, your character is always so weak in the beginning. Their aim is weak, their stamina is weak, and even their weapons are bad.

As the player, you have to build up your character slowly with skill points, improving their skills and developing their abilities until they’re ready for the final boss fight.

I know…It’s never fun being a novice, is it? And in marketing, it never feels that you’re getting better.

 

So… How do we become better than everyone else?

Well, working out how to be better at marketing took me a while.

And when I say a while, I mean years. Testing hundreds of ads. 

Testing isn’t cheap either if you don’t know what you're doing. It requires a lot of time and money. A LOT of time and money.

And, like most small business owners, I had neither. 

But after years of developing my skills, I stumbled over a quote by legendary marketer Claude Hopkins… And then it all started to click.

Hopkins says: “Salesmanship has no chance whatever unless we get a hearing.”

Now, although it is a simple sentence, it can transform your outlook on marketing.

No one will give our product or service a chance unless we get them to see it first and pay attention.

Being BORING!

Meta is a social media platform that runs off attention. People are scrolling and scrolling. You can’t expect them to see your ad and give it their undivided attention without earning it.

You need to get their attention RIGHT NOW! And I’m going to show you how:

Make sure your image hits right. Show movement, or use bright colours, or show them what they want. Or better, combine all three into one.
